Update [March 04, 2017]: Looks like LG has reversed its previous statement due to strong criticism by users against the company’s surprising decision to not update LG G4 and V10 to Android 7.0 Nougat. In a latest report out of Korea, LG officials have said they will release the Nougat update for G4 and V10 in Q3 2017 in Korea.
However, as per the company’s official, the update might have instability issues and it’ll be up to the users to install the Nougat update or keep their devices running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow for a better software experience.
LG Electronics said, “Both models were designed to show the best performance in Android 5.0 and 6.0 environments, and we have been upgrading the OS one time.” However, LG Electronics respects the right of customers to choose, “We have also been careful and have decided to support 7.0 upgrades.”

Update [March 02, 2017]: An LG official has confirmed that there won’t be any future Android version upgrades to either LG G4 or LG V10.
“We decided not to Provide Android 7.0 (7.0 & 7.1) update for G4 and V10. As a result of internal compatibility with the new Android system, it was concluded that it is difficult to maintain optimized performance.”

Looks like the LG G4 won’t be getting the Android 7.0 Nougat update after all. According to an LG customer service representative, the LG G4 will stay with Android Marshmallow, and will not get the Nougat update.
We were initially hoping that the G4 would get the Nougat update as it was next in line after the LG G5. However, that is not the case. When speaking to a Korean LG Customer rep, an XDA member was told that no Nougat update would be released for the G4.
The LG G4 in Korea has the model number F500L, but since Korea is LG’s home country, we can pretty much conclude that even the international variants will not get the update. There are Android Nougat based custom ROMs available for the G4, which is the only way to get the update now.

The smartphone will continue to receive security updates as always, but Marshmallow will be the last official update. How do you feel about this?
