New updates are rolling out to Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy A8 users that install the latest Android security patches to the duo.
The Galaxy S9 is receiving an update that installs software version G960FXXU1BRE5 and with it comes the security patch for the month of May 2018. The same is also true for the Galaxy A8, which is receiving software version A530FXXS2ARE1. The A8’s update comes only a day after the same update rolled out to the A8 Plus, but there’s still no sign of Android 8.0 Oreo update for the pair, although it’s expected in the coming weeks.
The latest Galaxy S9 and A8 updates are rolling out over the air. This means they’ll take time before they hit all units. You can wait for the OTA notification or force the update via Settings > About phone menu, but make sure you have enough battery juice and a stable Wi-Fi connection before you begin the upgrade process.
