Samsung recently rolled out Android Oreo updates to the Galaxy J7 Core, Galaxy J5 Prime and Galaxy J5 2017 and even before they settle in, the trio is receiving another small update that ups the security patch level to the latest version in town.

Two of the phones are receiving Android 8.1 Oreo-based updates that install software version J701FDDU6BRI1 for the J7 Core and version J530FXWU3BRI1 for the J5 2017. These are upgrades from the previous builds BRH9 and BRH5 that installed Oreo and August 2018 security patches to the two phones, respectively.

As for the Galaxy J5 Prime, the new update carries software version G570FXXU1CRH9, which has the same CRH9 build that recently brought Android 8.0 Oreo to the handset, but with an upgraded security patch for the month of September 2018.
