A couple of months ago, a report surfaced online suggesting that Google is working on a third product codenamed ‘Taimen’ alongside two other devices codenamed ‘Walleye’ and ‘Muskie’ which are supposed to be the successors of Google Pixel and Pixel XL.
Back then, we did not have much details regarding the ‘Taimen.’ But, that’s changing today as the device paid a visit to Geekbench thereby shedding some light on key specs of the handset.
Firstly, the listing suggests that the smartphone will run Google’s yet-to-be-announced Android O OS. Secondly, there will be a 1.9GHz octa-core Qualcomm chipset which in all its likelihood could be the Snapdragon 835 chipset.

And lastly, the smartphone is spotted packing 4GB of RAM. Other than these details, not much is known about the Taimen still. However, if earlier leaks are anything to go by, this device will feature a huge display.
Now, it’s not entirely clear if Google will jump on the bezel-less display bandwagon and introduce a new handset with a huge display (perhaps larger than 6.0-inch) in a relatively smaller footprint but, that’s what we would like to assume.
Or, it could simply be the Google Pixel running Android O whose build.prop has been edited to represent it as Snapdragon 835 chipset. Anything is possible unless we have a solid confirmation suggesting otherwise.
