Back in late November, we had written about leaked images of a Limited Edition DROID RAZR MAXX HD which was being issued by Verizon to its employees.
At the time, it was also discovered that there would be two more devices which Verizon would be outing in Limited Edition avatars, viz the Windows Phone 8X, and the Full HD 1080p display toting Verizon DROID DNA.
However, no additional leaks or information had surfaced after that, and we almost forgot about it, till today. If you thought there was too much red on the Special Edition of the Droid Razr MAXX HD, the leaked picture of the Employee Edition Verizon Droid DNA above should make it pale in comparison.
The back of the Employee Edition Droid DNA is completely red in color, while retaining the same look on the front as the consumer edition. Other modifications include an engraving at the back which reads Verizon Employee Limited Edition.
The handset should find it’s way into employee hands sometime this month, and since there’s not too much left of this month anyways, I’m guessing before Christmas would be more like it.
Back then, rumor had it that these limited editions would be individually numbered employee-only units and employees would get to choose from one of the three models.
Some may feel that this looks too gaudy for a device as majestic as the Droid DNA, while others may find it cool, or hot, depending on how they perceive colors. But either way, I doubt if anyone would miss a chance to pick one of these up if they show up on eBay or Craig’s list sometime in the future.
