But what happens when pin someone on Snapchat? Do they know if you pin or unpin their messages on Snapchat? That’s what we’ll explain in this post.
Does Snapchat notify someone when you pin them?
No. On its support page, Snapchat confirms that it doesn’t notify someone when you pin a conversation with them on the platform. This means none of the three contacts you pin will know that you pinned them on Snapchat.
Can you find who has pinned you on Snapchat?
As explained above, when you pin their conversation, Snapchat doesn’t alert others. So, you cannot find who may have pinned your messages either. The only way you find out whether someone has pinned your conversation is if you can find your conversation at the top of their Snapchat app or by asking them directly about it.
Does the other person know when you unpin them?
No. Unpinning works similarly to pinning on Snapchat, so no one will know when you unpin their conversation on Snapchat. This means no one other than you will know when you remove a pinned conversation or replace it with another conversation on Snapchat.
How to pin someone on Snapchat
You can pin up to 3 conversations at once on Snapchat to make them appear at the top of your chat list. To pin someone on Snapchat, you can follow the steps below:
- Inside Snapchat, tap on the “Chat” tab at the bottom. On the Chat screen, long-press on a conversation you want to pin.
- In the popup menu, select “Chat and notification settings”. Here, tap on “Pin Conversation” to pin the conversation.
Or, if you want to unpin the conversation, select “Unpin conversation”.
Note: Pinning a conversation will move it to the top of the Chat screen and will show a pin icon next to it.
How to pin someone as your No.1 BFF?
Snapchat also has an option that lets you pin one of your contacts as your BFF. However, this does require a Snapchat+ subscription. Here’s how to do go about it:
- Go to the “Chat” screen and tap and hold on the friend you want to add as your No. 1 BFF. Select Pin as your No. 1 BFF.
- Alternatively, take a snap and select Send To.
- Tap and hold on a contact. Select Pin as your No. 1 BFF.
You can only choose one BFF from your contacts. Whom you select as your No. 1 BFF is visible only to you, so everything remains private. But if your BFF is also a Snapchat+ member and pins you as their No. 1 BFF, the two of you will see a new ‘Best Friend Emoji’ (heart) on your Chat feed and Friendship profiles.
