The Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Verizon Galaxy Tab 7.7 has gotten Verizon’s approval, which means that owners of the device will soon be seeing the much update and move Honeycomb behind for good. Since the update has been approved, it should start rolling out in the next few days.
The most important changes Android 4.0 brings are faster performance and better stability, along with other Ice Cream Sandwich features like a reorganized settings menu, face unlock, ability to request desktop versions of websites in the browser, mobile data usage management, and more. The update is 283MB in size and will be available over the air.
You can check if the update is available by heading into the Settings » About tablet » System update menu, though it probably won’t be a day or two before it starts rolling out. Patience, mortal souls. Patience.
