Android 4.1 Jelly Bean was released back in July 2012, while Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich came out almost a year ago in November 2011. In the latest figures released by Google, both Android versions now collectively a little over 25% of all Android devices, with 4.0 at 23.7% and Jelly Bean at a low 1.8%.
Gingerbread continues to be the dominant Android version, powering 55.8% of devices but down from 57.5% last month, as Gingerbread running devices get updated to Android 4.0. Both Android 4.0 and 4.1 have increased over their share last month, from 21% and 1.2% respectively. This is not too fast a growth rate, but with major Android devices set to get the Android 4.1 update this month, as well as Android 4.0 updates coming out for a lot of devices, both numbers should increase as the end of 2012 nears.
