It’s not only the smartphone segment that Huawei is targeting at the MWC 2017, but it has set its eyes on other areas as well. One of them being the smartwatch segment. The company has officially announced to launch the second generation Huawei Watch with Android Wear 2.0 out-of-the-box, during the event.

The announcement was made by Richard Yu, Huawei’s CEO via a Weibo post. The post, alongwith the announcement, carried a photo of a man in sports gear looking at a watch on his wrist. This leads us to surmise that Huawei Watch 2 will focus much more on fitness activity.

Based on past leaks, Huawei Watch 2 should sport a 1.4-inch display and a 42-millimeter body. It will be shipped with a built-in SIM card enabling the Watch 2 wearer to make calls without being connected to an Android or iOS smartphone. It would come with either a leather or stainless steel band.
