Huawei is no Samsung or HTC, both of who are extraordinary awful at hiding the design of their flagships, the Galaxy S6 and One M9 respectively. And it shows — the upcoming Huawei P8 has leaked out in full, not only revealing the smartphone’s specs, but also its price and launch date.
Good for us, no? It gets kind of boring to keep guessing things about Galaxy S6, be it the bizzare Samsung patent about Galaxy S Edge, or that Galaxy S6 would feature a back cover that would serve as secondary E-Ink display.
So, the Huawei P8. Let’s talk the specs first.
Huawei P8 would feature a 5.2″ display — same as that in rumored Galaxy S6 Specs — but an IPS one with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD), and is protected by Gorilla Glass 3, which is also available for the glass back of the phone.
Huawei could bless the P8 with a dual-camera lens at its rear, and it could be as good as 13MP one we find on Honor 6 Plus. Battery is stated to be of 2600mAh, which is neither bad nor great.
The processor unit in use is Huawei’s own Kirin 930 octa-core chip, that’s produced using the 16nm process, and would make the Huawei P8 the first phone to house a chip made using the said process. Though, Samsung’s use of its own Exynos processor, could change things because that’s also said to be produced at one of the better production methods, which could equal or better the 16nm.
Last but not the least, Huawei P8 will be ultra slim at 6mm of thickness, which although not recording breaking — Vivo X5Max holds that, it’s 4.75mm slim — but is quite slim and makes Huawei P8 a really cool option when buying a device under this range because it looks pretty good, too.
Huawei P8 Release is set for April, and its announcement is expected on April 15, in London. Earlier rumors had the unveil booked for MWC (March 2-5), but it seems the wait will be longer.
Huawei P8 Price is said to be 2,999 yuan, equivalent of $480 approx.
