The Huawei P8 is now receiving the January security patch with build number GRA-L09C432B391. The update also brings bug fixes, performance and stability improvements and other enhancements.

The Huawei P8 comes with super slim 6.4mm thick body, and features the Kirin 930 chipset inside, along with 3GB of RAM and an ample 2600mAh juice pack. The smartphone launched with EMUI 3.1 and should be seeing EMUI 5.0 in the coming months.

Before updating the device, make sure to backup all important data and ensure at least 50% charge and a stable data connection, preferably over WiFi. The update is obviously Marshmallow based, BTW, but Huawei is soon to release Nougat for the P8, most probably by February this year.

Meanwhile, you can keep an eye on our Lineage OS downloads page to get an early taste of Nougat thanks to the custom ROM, which was formerly known as CyanogenMod.
