As one of the event’s major sponsors, Huawei will be at the MWC 2018. However, there won’t be the Huawei P20 or P20 Plus on display, rather, the P10 and P10 Plus successors will be unveiled at an isolated event later in March.
Looking at what has been doing rounds on the internet, it’s increasingly becoming possible that we’ll see the first tri-camera smartphone at this event. The Huawei P20 and P20 Plus are rumored to sport three lenses on the back that will total a resolution of up to 40MP. However, recent reports have also indicated that Huawei will throw in a third and low-end variant dubbed Huawei P20 Lite.
Thanks to serial leaker OnLeaks in partnership with TigerMobiles, we have what is believed to be the final design of the Huawei P20 Lite, something that is further supported by a series of leaked images of the phone in the wild.
From the renders and images, we can see that the Huawei P20 Lite will indeed be an iPhone X mockup. The most obvious thing is the notch on the front display, but the P20 Lite keeps a sizeable bezel on the bottom and does a great job getting rid of the top bezel, which adds more weight to the alleged 19:9 aspect ratio that showed up in FCC documents.
The P20 Lite will also come with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and it’s circular as opposed to the square design used on its predecessor. Unlike what is expected for the P20 and P20 Plus, the Lite will get a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB-C port.
While the P20 and P20 Plus are expected to ship with a tri-lens camera on the back, the latest renders and leaked images corroborate previous leaks that had pointed to a dual-lens setup for the P20 Lite. Even more interesting is the iPhone X-like vertical setup, which also appears in the same position as the Apple flagship.
