Huawei has started rolling out stable EMUI 9.1 update— version number: 9.1.0.230 — for the Nova 4, adding a couple of new features and improving overall system performance.

The update has added support for the ARK compiler and EROFS performance tech, both aimed to improve app launching speeds and smoothness.

The Nova 4 EMUI 9.1 update is available for users who currently have either of these software versions installed: 9.0.1.182, 9.1.0.200, and 9.1.0.222. Note that the rollout is limited to China only at the moment, where if the current software version on your Nova 4 is any of these, you will get a jump to stable EMUI 9.1 build, 9.1.0.230, via an OTA.

EMUI 9.1 also introduces GPU Turbo 3.0, making the Nova 4 gaming experience smoother than ever. Another new addition, Smart Video, intelligently extracts the most invaluable clips from your videos and can even predict special effects based on the type of video you’re viewing.

The Voice Assistant has been made even smarter with added instructions, while some elements of the Settings menu have been simplified to increase understandability.
