Update [Oct 3]: It turns out Huawei hasn’t commenced rolling out a stable version of Android 9 Pie as it had been earlier thought. Whether it’s the Huawei Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, Mate 10 Porsche Edition, Mate RS, P20, P20 Pro, Honor Play, Honor 10 or Honor View 10.
[Original post]: Huawei has commenced the rollout of the Android Pie update or the Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro and Mate RS in China.
The new software is bundled with the company’s proprietary EMUI 9.0 Android skin and has the build number 9.0.0.110 for China.
Android 9.0 Pie should bring forth a bunch of new features to owners of the Mate 10 series including digital wellbeing, gesture navigation, and adaptive brightness. On top of that, EMUI 9.0 will also come bundled with its own set of novelties like GPU Turbo 2.0, HiVision (a Google Lens alternatives) and Advanced Battery with AI support.

Like it’s usually the case with updates such as this one, it might take a while before the Pie-touting build reaches every eligible phone out there.
Simultaneously, it also seems like the Android Pie update is being pushed to the Mate 10 Pro in Europe. This time the build number is 9.0.0.108.

Given that this is a rather large update, make sure you charge your phone and connect it to a secure Wi-Fi before downloading and installing the new build.
Huawei has started rolling out the Android Pie update a few weeks before it’s expected to take the stage in London on October 16 and unveil the next-gen Mate 20 series. These devices will ship with Android 9 out of the box.
