The release of Android 9 Pie may have been almost 6 months ago, but the minuscule market share of the latest version of Android shows a different picture altogether. The inclusion of Project Treble since Android 8.0 Oreo has improved software rollout for Android OEMs significantly, which is why we’re seeing even the mid-range Android devices updated to Android Pie.

The latest batch of budget Android devices in line to receive Android 9 Pie seem to come from the Chinese tech giant in the form of the Huawei Nova 3e and the Huawei Y9 2019 variant. Based on the official press release from Huawei, the two Android devices are being added to the Android P beta program which includes the EMUI 9.0 update.
