Huawei has set the launch date for its new premium smartphone Honor V9 on February 21, a week before Mobile World Congress 2017. The Chinese company has released a teaser image on Chinese microblogging site Weibo which features Sun Yang, the country’s swimming champion and mentions the date 2017.02.21.

The Huawei Honor V9 was spotted on Weibo a few days back with detailed specsheet and leaked price. It was also spotted on Chinese certification site TENAA listed as model number DUK-TL30.

The Honor V9 will be equipped with a 5.7-inch display with a resolution Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixel). Under the hood, it will carry Kirin 960 octa-core processor with a clock frequency of 2.4 GHz paired with new Mali M71 graphics which is Vulkan API compatible. It will come in two options — 4GB and 6GB paired with 64 GB internal storage.

The highlight of the phone is its dual rear camera set-up with 12 megapixel and a 2-megapixel sensor along with a LED flash. On the front, it houses a 8MP selfie snapper. To keep the lights on we have a 3,900mAH battery. The OS on the phone will be Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.

Huawei will release the Honor V9 in gold color at an expected price of 2699 yuan which is approximately $393.
