The Huawei Honor 8 is receiving an OTA update with the latest Google security patches and a few performance improvements in Germany. The update comes with firmware version B380 and is based on Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI version 5.0.

As is always the case with OTA updates, you might have to wait a bit for the update to hit your Honor 8 devices as it is being rolled out in stages currently. If you’re not one to wait though, head over to device Settings » About phone » and manually check for a software update.

The official changelog for the update goes as follows:

  • Optimized function for automatic screen brightness.
  • Reduces power consumption to increase service life.
  • Improves system performance and stability to ensure smoother operation.
  • Integrates Google security patches to increase system security.

Make sure your Honor 8 is currently running on the B360 firmware build to be able to get the latest B380 firmware update. If your device is running a build older than B360 then updating it to the required build first and then check for the B380 OTA update.
