Honor 8 Lite Android 9 Pie update
- No word from Huawei
- Official Pie update still expected
Huawei has been full of surprises recently. A good number of phones unexpectedly made it to Android Oreo, among them the Honor 6X that came preinstalled with Android Marshmallow, meaning a budget phone got two major OS upgrades. Quite unusual, right?
With that said, it’s likely that the Honor 8 Lite, which runs on the same Kirin 655 chipset that powers the Honor 6X and has already been upgraded to Android Oreo, will get a second major Android OS upgrade, which, of course, is Android 9 Pie. As for when, we are looking at a possible Q2 or Q3 2019 release date, although this is just us making an educated guess.
As noted earlier, we’ll keep this page updated with the latest news on Honor 8 Lite Android 9 Pie update news if and when available.
