Huawei 6X or better known as Huawei GR5 2017 in countries like Australia, Kenya, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine was released in the first quarter of 2017.
The smartphone runs on Android Marshmallow and is currently receiving a new update from Huawei. The new update, which arrives as version B384 doesn’t bring any change in the operating system, meaning it doesn’t bring Nougat or Oreo either.
However, the update adds a really cool feature that was missing until now. We are talking about VoLTE (Voice over LTE) support that lets you make HD calls from your phone over supported carries. Plus, the update also brings the latest security patch. The security patch will take care of all vulnerabilities on your device.

We are not really sure whether the update brings the Blueborne patch or not but do expect bug fixes and performance improvements from the update. As it is an OTA update, it may take some time to reach your device, you can, however, check manually if the update is available or not. To do so, go to Settings – About – Software.
Huawei hasn’t revealed any plans regarding Oreo update, so we can’t comment whether GR5 will get Oreo or not. Meanwhile, recently, a device from Huawei, Huawei Mate 9 was spotted running on Android Oreo.
