All the flagship phones released this year by different OEMs have brought something or the other new to the table. Be it LG G6’s Full Vision Display or Galaxy S8’s Infinity Display or even Xiaomi Mi 6’s four-sided 3D glass design with an under-glass fingerprint scanner, these flagship phones have brought a breath of fresh air in the stagnant smartphone market. And if you thought that was all the innovation one could think of in a smartphone, wait till you get to see the HTC U 11, the Taiwanese company’s this year flagship product.
Slated for a May 16th release, HTC has started playing its marketing card and released another teaser video focusing on the main USP and uniqueness of the HTC U 11, the pressure-sensitive edges that can interpret gestures into actions.

HTC has opted to show the phone’s USP by including clips of our day-to-day activities where we resort to squeezing to get our jobs done. Thus, the video shows people squeezing things and eatables such as lemon, bun, orange, trumpet, stapler and even a bicep and a hand.
In between HTC has thrown a shot of the upcoming flagship smartphone painted in Blue color. The video ends with the tagline ‘Squeeze the Brilliant U’ and the May 16th release date.
Other than the unique pressure sensing side bezels, the HTC U 11 is rumored to sport a 5.5-inch WQHD (1400 x 2560 pixels) display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, a 4GB or 6GB RAM, a 12MP ultrapixel rear camera and a 16MP selfie shooter. The phone will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box with the company’s Sense 9 UI on top. If past reports are to be believed, the touch sensitive bezels might have access to the power and volume control and even the fingerprint scanner.

By all means, the HTC looks prepared to give Samsung a tough competition in the flagship segment.
