Today HTC finally went on to officially announce the One X+, which comes with Android 4.1 out of the box. The same announcement also said “The Android Jelly Bean with HTC™ Sense 4+ update is scheduled to begin rolling out for the HTC One™ S and HTC One™ X from October,” which is in keeping with a previous rumor that the One X update will start rolling out in October.

The update will start for generic devices this month, followed by updates to carrier branded devices till the end of the year, also bringing an update to Sense 4.1. Samsung has already beaten HTC by outing the Android 4.1 update for the Galaxy S3 in September, but an update in October to the One X and One S will ensure the HTC doesn’t remain too far behind.

So to all those One X and One S owners out there, hang on for a few more weeks, the latest and greatest Android version is incoming soon. As for the One V, I wouldn’t be too hopeful about an update to that device.
