HTC is finally unleashing Android 7.0 Nougat to the Indian variant of the One A9 after a long wait. The unlocked variant of the device in the US had already received its fair share of Nougat back in January. This was followed by Sprint releasing the update, with European users catching up last month.
After making Indian users wait for a grueling four months, owners of the One A9 will finally get to check out all the new features that Nougat has to offer. On rocking this update, your A9 will now have native multi window support, bundled notifications, quick reply from the notification shade and much more.
The update arrives as software version 2.18.707.1 and also installs the latest security patch, safeguarding your device from malware and known threats out there. In addition to increasing the overall system performance, you can also make considerable battery gains with the improved Doze feature.

Since this is a pretty large download weighing in at 1.05GB, it is advisable to download over WiFi. Before downloading ensure that your device has at least 50% charge. Also make sure that you have your important data, be it songs, photos, contacts etc., backed up just in case something drastically goes wrong during the installation.
Besides HTC 10 and HTC One M9, the One A9 is only device to currently rock Nougat thanks to an OTA update — other sets like HTC U Play, U Ultra and HTC Bolt were launched with Nougat pre-installed.

In all honesty, by HTC’s standards 4 months is pretty impressive. This is a positive shift in the update times and a good thing. (:
