September 17, 2016: Following the price reduction in US, HTC India has come forward and slashed the One A9’s price in India too, from INR31,999 to INR28,990. Mind you, it’s still not fully reflective of the market price of One A9 in India, as the device is available for INR27,800 at Amazon India.

HTC has cut down the price of its One A9 to deliciously low, $299. Considering that the device is sure-shot to receive Android 7.0 Nougat update by this year’s end, it’s one of the cheapest ways right now to get a device that would run Nougat soon, if Nexus — or Android One sets — isn’t your thing.

Released last year this very month, the device could soon see a successor, and this could indeed be the stock clearing sale.

The One A9 packs in some good specs, with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, Snapdragon 617 processor, 13MP camera at the back with OIS and dual-LED flash (4MP in front), all underneath the beautiful 5.0″ AMOLED display that forms front of a body that’s 7.3mm thick only.

But what’s more cool about the device is its nice looks, even though they look are borrowed from a certain Android competitor.

Right now, the device runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, and because it’s getting the Nougat update for sure pretty soon, it looks like a good buy to us. What’s more, the sound quality too is impressive, and the phone runs buttery-smooth on Marshmallow, which should be the case on Nougat too.

All in all, if you can — or wanna — live with an i*hone-ish Android, it’s a sweet device on a very sweet price for you. Maybe you can gift it to your mother or sister to keep them on Android, stay away from iPhone, because I for one know much I love to do that.
