HTC U11 users in the U.S. started getting the update to Android Oreo a while back. In fact, the update has already been rolled out to the T-Mobile version of the U11 Life and the unlocked U11 Life, but folks in Europe are still waiting for the update to hit their beloved U11 handsets.
In a bid to calm consumers down, the Taiwanese company, through its official HTC UK account on Twitter, has bemoaned the delayed release of Android Oreo to the HTC U11 in the region, blaming some “complexities” for the delay, but the worst part is that there’s no word if the update will be rolled out soon.
All that HTC says is that they’ll be making a further communication “as soon as we can” to give more details about the status of the update. The type of complexities and their magnitudes are not known, but for the sake of our European fans, we are hopeful that everything will be worked out sooner than later.
We’re sorry for the delay in delivering your Oreo update for the HTC U11. We have started to roll out the update globally but have had some complexities that have caused a delay to our release in Europe. Please bear with us and we’ll let you know more as soon as we can.

Like last year’s Nougat, HTC users were among the first to receive the update to Android Oreo on the U11. The company is also expected to roll out the same update to the HTC 10 somewhere this January, but the exact date is still elusive.
