HTC Desire 826 Price and Release Date revealed for China

The successor to HTC Desire 816, the Desire 826 was unveiled earlier this month at CES 2015 in Las Vegas, and now finally the Taiwanese manufacturer is putting the device to shelves, starting with the Chinese market first.

The device was launched in China yesterday and is reportedly set to go on sale on 29th January. HTC Desire 826 price is set at 2299 Yuan ($360) for the 16GB variant and 2499 Yuan ($400) for the 32GB variant in China.

For a mid-range device, the Desire 826 packs performing hardware inside. The device runs on a 64-bit eight-core processor, Snapdragon 615, with 2GB RAM. The display on Desire 826 is a 5.5 inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920. As for the camera, there’s a 13MP camera on back and 4MP ultrapixel camera on the front. However, the battery capacity on the phone is only 2600 mAh, which may prove under-performing for a device with 5.5 inch screen.

HTC Desire 826 will run on Android 5.0 lollipop out of the box, but we aren’t sure which Sense version it’ll run. Our guess would be the latest Sense 7, but if HTC chooses to keep Sense 7 to its premium range of devices only, then Desire 826 might just get stuck with Sense 6.5. Or it could also happen that, once HTC’s upcoming flagship device HTC One M9 gets released, the company will update Desire 826 to Sense 7.0. Let’s just hope for the best.
