HTC Desire 12 and 12 Plus

From a design perspective, HTC’s phones seem pretty, but from a specs point of view, they are quite unremarkable. While the Taiwanese company has done a great job pushing the near bezel-less design to the budget segment, ironically, there is a lot to be desired for in terms of specs.

It’s true the acrylic glass that resembles the dazzling HTC U11 will be a major selling point for the Desire 12 phones, but in a smartphone segment that has the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, Note 5 Pro, Honor 9 Lite, Asus ZenFone 5 or even ZenFone 5 Lite, it will take a very competitive price for the Desire phones to gain traction.

HTC has confirmed that the Desire 12 Plus will be powered by Android 8.0 Oreo, but there are still some uncertainties over which OS is running the show on the Desire 12. But we should get this detail soon enough. And no, there’s no Edge Sense on these two, but HTC’s Sense skin is atop Android OS.

HTC Desire 12 and 12 Plus price and availability

Speaking of competitive pricing, this is a phrase that rarely appears in the same sentence as HTC. Over the years, the company has been known for its premium price tags even on phones that were clearly not worth it. With this in mind, don’t expect anything different when the company confirms the price details of the Desire 12 and 12 Plus.

Perhaps the reason HTC hasn’t announce the prices is that the figure will vary according to regions. Even so, there’s still no word on where exactly the HTC Desire 12 and 12 Plus will be sold, but we expect them to be available in Europe, the U.S., and India starting this April or May 2018.
