How to listen to Podcasts on your Galaxy Watch

While most OEMs have abandoned the idea of creating worthy, feature-rich smartwatches, Samsung has emerged as one of the pioneers in the segment. From Gear S3 to the latest Galaxy Watch Active 2, there are a number of options to choose from, and you can’t go wrong with any.

All of these watches come with respectable internal storage, allowing you to store a good number of songs. If you’re a fan of podcasts, the watches let you store and play them, as well. The best part? The podcasts sync automatically with your Galaxy Watch, relieving you of the task of syncing them manually.

How to listen to Podcasts on your Galaxy Watch

Here’s how to listen to podcasts on your Samsung wearable:

Step 1: Download the Google Podcasts app.

Step 2: Open the app. Tap 3 vertical dots at the top-right corner.

Step 3: Select Settings.

Step 4: Tap and enable Automatic downloads.

Step 5: Pick your favorite podcasts, which Google will automatically download for you.

Step 6: Go to the Galaxy Wearable app.

Step 7: Select your smartwatch.

Step 8: Tap on Add content to your watch.

Step 9: Make sure to enable Auto sync.

Step 10. If Google fails to sync the podcasts with your device, you could load them up manually by tapping on the Add track option.

  1. The problem I have with google podcast/google play music is that I do not see the tracks in Galaxy Watch. sometimes I see some, most of the time I do not see any updates

  2. My question is about the Spotify podcast. I can’t access Spotify podcast on my Galaxy watch. I have to downlaod podcasts episodes from Spotify to my phone via Drmare spotify downloader then add the downloaded podcasts files to my watch via the Galaxy Wearable app. It takes so much time.

  3. Hi – I just recently bought a Ticwatch running Wear OS to use principally to listen to podcasts at the gym. Simply sync’ing with Google Play on my PC didn’t work. The app saw my watch but would not sync to it. I could access content from the watch online but not off. I can’t remember how many workarounds I tried. I could not make it happen. Nada. I just sold the watch and I’m getting an Apple watch. From what I’m reading on forums like this boils down to Google making false claims. Apple watches are overpriced, yes, but unlike Wear OS they DO work. Good luck. Rob

  4. Nothing mentioned in this article actually works.

  5. Didn’t work for the Active 2, any suggestions?

    1. Yep this article is zero useful.

  6. It works but for podcasts stored to your device. If you download the podcasts in mp3 format files the phone will detect them and send to the watch. Not very interactive but it will work.

  7. Yep this article is zero useful.
