To get 3SS V2 in Haze Seas, unlock 3 Sword Style V1 with Shusui, Enma and Zenith at 300 mastery each, raise 3SS V1 to 300 mastery, then craft the V2 upgrade at Doran the Forge in the Third Sea using 5 Ancient Blade Relics.
3 Sword Style V2 is late-game Third Sea content, and it is not a single drop you can farm — it is a craft that sits on top of a long prerequisite chain. Before you can even start the upgrade you need the full 3 Sword Style V1 package built from three separate swords, and V1 and V2 are two completely separate unlocks. This guide walks the whole route, from the first prerequisite sword to the final craft at Doran the Forge.
The full 3SS V2 unlock route and requirements
| Requirement | How to get it |
|---|---|
| Third Sea access | Progress through the First and Second Sea to reach the Third Sea |
| Shusui | Defeat the First Sea level 2050 island boss |
| Enma | Defeat the Second Sea Shogun-style boss at the main island castle |
| Zenith | Defeat the Second Sea level 3000 island boss during a storm |
| 300 mastery on each sword | Level Shusui, Enma and Zenith to 300 mastery individually |
| 3 Sword Style V1 | Merge the three 300-mastery swords at the Third Sea rock |
| 300 mastery on 3SS V1 | Grind mastery on the merged 3 Sword Style V1 |
| 5 Ancient Blade Relics | Buy for 1,000,000 money each, or craft from Blade Fragments at Doran |
KEY!The path runs in a fixed order: collect Shusui, Enma and Zenith, push all three to 300 mastery, merge them into 3 Sword Style V1 at the Third Sea rock, grind that V1 to 300 mastery, and only then craft V2 with 5 Ancient Blade Relics. Every one of those swords and both merges live in the Third Sea, so there is no shortcut that skips a sea. Use the checklist below to confirm you are actually ready before you sink hours into farming.
Farm Enma and Zenith on a private server — both bosses run on server-based timers, and a private server removes the crowd fighting over them so their spawns line up faster.
How to get 3SS V2 in Haze Seas
Follow this route from the first prerequisite sword all the way to the finished craft, and each stage feeds the next.
STEP 1/11
Get Shusui from the First Sea 2050 island boss

Head to the last First Sea island at level 2050 and defeat its boss, who drops the scarf and Shusui; the exact drop rate is unknown, so plan on repeat kills.
STEP 2/11
Farm Enma on the Second Sea main island

Go to the Second Sea main island (level 2200) and wait roughly 1 hour to 1 hour 5 minutes on a fresh or private server for the Shogun-style boss to spawn at the castle.
STEP 3/11
Defeat the Enma boss before it despawns

The boss has a despawn timer, so kill it fast — if it vanishes you have to wait another full spawn cycle for it to return.
STEP 4/11
Reach the Second Sea level 3000 island for Zenith

Travel to the Second Sea level 3000 island, where the Zenith boss spawns inside during the right weather.
STEP 5/11
Wait for a real storm to trigger the Zenith spawn

The Zenith boss only appears in a genuine storm with both rain and thunder — plain rain will not do it — so server hop or sit in a private server until a storm hits.
STEP 6/11
Finish the Zenith boss with a three-sword style

Zenith is a 100% drop, but it only registers if you land the finishing blow using the three-sword style from the Second Sea Zoro boss at Snowy Graveyard.
STEP 7/11
Merge the three swords into 3SS V1 at the Third Sea rock

With 300 mastery on Shusui, Enma and Zenith, spawn into the Third Sea, look to the rock beside spawn, and buy the merge into 3 Sword Style V1.
STEP 8/11
Grind 3 Sword Style V1 to 300 mastery

You need a full 300 mastery on the merged 3SS V1 itself; farming Third Sea bosses feeds mastery faster than normal enemies.
STEP 9/11
Gather 5 Ancient Blade Relics

Buy each Ancient Blade Relic from the Third Sea merchant for 1,000,000 money, or craft them at Doran — the relics do not currently drop directly from any boss.
STEP 10/11
Farm Blade Fragments from the Third Sea sea boss

The Kaido Hybrid sea boss spawns every 25 minutes with a 10% Blade Fragment drop, and five fragments craft one relic at Doran (so roughly 25 fragments for a full set of five).
STEP 11/11
Craft 3SS V2 at Doran the Forge

Bring 3SS V1 at 300 mastery plus your 5 Ancient Blade Relics to Doran, craft Three Sword Style V2, and claim the new title and upgraded weapon — which can reset and swap back to normal 3SS from the menu.

What 3 Sword Style V2 does in combat
| Move | Effect |
|---|---|
| M1 | Standard click combo, close to 3SS V1 but with noticeably longer range — the best option for farming |
| Z | Huge-range slash that tags several enemies and reliably lands two hits; the easiest skill to hit |
| X | Forward dash that lands multiple cuts for a two-hit burst |
| C | Short teleport into a front explosion; higher damage than the V1 version but trickier to land |
Once V2 is on your back you get a reworked M1 chain and three skills that feel like heavier, longer-ranged versions of the V1 kit. The standout is the Z, which throws out a huge-range slash that can clip several enemies at once and lands a clean two-hit, making it the easiest button to connect. The X is a forward dash full of cuts, and the C is a short teleport into an explosion that hits harder than its V1 counterpart but takes more care to land.
Damage lands on the high side — a single showcase run on a sword-damage build put the full M1 string around 10,000 over five hits, the Z and X near 6,000, and the C around 7,000. Those figures came off a stacked sword-damage stat spread, though, so treat them as build-dependent rather than fixed numbers you will see on every character. In practice V2 shines as a farming weapon thanks to the range on Z and the M1 reach, and it is strong without being an obvious PvP pick.
Common 3SS V2 mistakes and fixes

The biggest time-waster is farming the old Zoro route expecting V2 to fall out of it. Beating the Second Sea Zoro boss at Snowy Graveyard no longer hands you the Triple Katana directly — that boss only gives the base three-sword style tool you use to finish Zenith, and every version of 3 Sword Style now finalizes in the Third Sea. Trying to build V1 or craft V2 before you reach the Third Sea simply will not work, because both the merge rock and Doran are Third Sea only.
Mastery trips a lot of players up too. Each of the three swords needs a full 300 mastery before the rock will merge them, and the merged 3SS V1 then needs its own 300 mastery before Doran will craft V2 — missing either one blocks the next step with no obvious error. On the boss side, remember that Zenith only spawns during a real storm with rain and thunder together, and the Enma boss despawns if you are too slow, so both reward patience and a quiet server.
The last common trap is the crafting materials. Ancient Blade Relics do not drop directly from any boss right now, so do not grind hoping one appears — you buy them for 1,000,000 each or craft them at Doran. And do not confuse the two material tiers: Blade Fragments are the Kaido Hybrid drops, and you convert five of those into one Ancient Blade Relic, which is the item the V2 craft actually consumes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you need 3 Sword Style V1 before 3SS V2?
Yes. V2 is an upgrade crafted from a completed 3 Sword Style V1, so you have to build V1 first — three swords at 300 mastery each, merged at the Third Sea rock — before Doran will let you start V2.
Where do you craft 3SS V2?
At Doran the Forge in the Third Sea. You bring your 3SS V1 and the required relics to Doran and select the Three Sword Style V2 craft there.
How many Ancient Blade Relics do you need?
You need 5 Ancient Blade Relics for the V2 craft, on top of 300 mastery on your 3SS V1.
Can you get 3SS V2 from Zoro or the Second Sea boss directly?
No. The Second Sea Zoro boss only provides the base three-sword style you use to finish Zenith — it does not hand out V2 or the Triple Katana anymore. The V2 weapon exists only as a Third Sea craft at Doran.
How do you get Blade Fragments?
Blade Fragments drop from the Kaido Hybrid sea boss in the Third Sea. It spawns roughly every 25 minutes per server with about a 10% fragment drop, and five fragments craft one Ancient Blade Relic at Doran.
More questions⤵
Is 3SS V2 better for farming or PvP?
It leans toward farming. The wide range on the Z and the reach on its M1 chain make it excellent for clearing mobs and grinding mastery, while the other skills are harder to reliably land in a duel, so it is strong overall without being a clear meta PvP weapon.
