Seldom has there been a comeback of a mobile phone that has been as impressive as that of the Samsung Galaxy Note series after the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7. While the Galaxy Note 8 was a great phone, Samsung was still conservative when it comes to pushing the hardware limits like the battery size, but with the release of Galaxy Note 9, all of that has changed significantly.

Galaxy Note 9: List of new, first time ever features

But regardless of the fact that the Galaxy Note 9 is a beast of a smartphone by all standards, it would not be outlandish to expect that the device freezes or hangs once in a while. With a non-removable battery in place, your only option to fix a Galaxy Note 9 that is not responding is using the force reboot option.

How to force reboot the Galaxy Note 9

  1. Press and hold the Power button and the Volume Down button simultaneously until the device screen turns off.
  2. If the Galaxy Note 9 screen stays black and you’re unable to see if it has turned off, keep holding down the Power and Volume Down buttons until you feel a vibration.
  3. To reboot, just press and hold the Power button until the screen turns on and you should shortly feel a vibration indicating that the Galaxy Note 9 is booting up.
