We pretty much knew everything about the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and all that remained was for Samsung to launch the phone, which has just happened at an event in New York. The Note 9 picks up all the good stuff from the Note 8 and steps them up by improving them and adding new, nifty features and specs as well. But this comes at a steep price.
You’ll meet the same design language as the Note 8, just like in the case of the S9 and S8, but you are also getting a new Snapdragon 845 processor alongside a massive 4000mAh. Finally, the Galaxy Note 9 gets a big battery to match its size!

Like in 2017, the Galaxy Note 9 borrows a lot of its specs and features from the Galaxy S9+, among them a dual-lens camera with variable aperture, the processor, and even the placement of the fingerprint scanner. But in keeping up with the Note tradition, the Note 9 gets a massive 4000mAh battery unit alongside the iconic S Pen, which has now gotten even better.
In fact, the S Pen is easily the biggest improvement on the Galaxy Note 9, where it’s now powered by supercapacitors and further includes support for wireless charging and Bluetooth connectivity. As you’d expect, the Note 9 also comes with plenty of camera tweaks aimed at taking the device’s photography to the next level.
Other flagship features you’ll find on the Galaxy Note 9 include stereo speakers tuned by AKG, has an IP68-certified body, supports DeX for a desktop-like experience, fast wireless charging, iris scanning, facial recognition, heart monitor, and expandable storage.
Unlike the Note 8, you are getting a base storage of 128GB that is mated with 6GB RAM and there’s also a superior variant with 8GB RAM and 512GB storage. A true Note indeed! Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is also one of the few devices that can play Fortnite, at least for now.
To get your hands on the Galaxy Note 9, Samsung says you can register your interest beginning August 10th, a move that will attract a free pair of AKG noise-canceling headphones or Fortnite Galaxy skin plus 15,000 V-bucks valued at $299 and $150, respectively. Alternatively, you can grab both at just $100.
As for the Note 9 itself, the base model can be had for $1000 while the high-end variant has a price tag of $1,250. At launch, the phablet will be sold in two color variants of Lavender Purple and Ocean Blue. Availability begins on August 24th through all major U.S. carriers, with select retail locations like U.S. carriers and Samsung expected to store the 512GB variant via their online channels.
