The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ may be all the rage right now, but it is impressive in itself that the Galaxy S8 from last year still holds up to be one of the best Android devices out there. While you’d expect the older Galaxy S8 to have a much smoother user experience than the Galaxy S9, the Android 8.0 Oreo update was released for the device less than a month ago.
This is opened a Pandora’s box of new issues on the Galaxy S8, but luckily most of them are resolvable easily. One such reported issue is a loud beeping noise coming from the device, which doesn’t seem to stop until to turn off the device. The issue seems to have popped up without any links to a certain app or service, so the only way to resolve it is to go through the basics.

Method 1: Perform a soft reset
- Press and hold the Power and Volume Down button simultaneously for 10 seconds until the Galaxy S8 powers off.
- Keep pressing those buttons until you see the Samsung’s logo as device restarts.
This is also ideal for situations when your Galaxy S8, S9 or the Note 8 device becomes unresponsive or freezes without any reason at all.

Method 2: Wipe cache partition
Wiping the cache partition of your Galaxy S8/S9/Note 8 will clear out all the temporary files stored on the system and third-party apps.
- Turn off the Galaxy device, and then press and hold the Volume Up, Bixby and Power button simultaneously.
- Release the Power button when the Samsung logo appears, but continue to hold the Volume Up and Bixby buttons.
- On the Android recovery screen, use the Volume Down button to navigate down to wipe cache partition and press the Power button to select it.
- Use the Volume Down button to select Yes — delete all user data, and then press the Power button to confirm.
- Wait for the reset to finish and press the Power button when prompted with the message to Reboot system now.

Method 3: Use the device in Safe Mode
If you’ve recently installed a bunch of third-party apps and the loud noise beep problem has just begun to surface, you cross it down to being an app-related issue. To test out this theory, boot the Galaxy device into Safe Mode to see if the issue still persists.
- Press and hold the Power button to bring up the Power menu.
- Now, press and hold the ‘Power off‘ option in the power menu until you get the option called ‘Safe mode’ on the screen.
- Now tap on the ‘Safe mode‘ option.
- The Galaxy device will now boot into Safe Mode where you will be able to use only the system apps installed on the device.
Do you still see the issue in the Safe mode? If yes, then it’s a hardware failure. If not, the issue is being caused by any faulty app or Settings.
