Like marking a spot on a book when you’re pausing for other things to do, you can also create a bookmark on a browser to quickly access websites that you most occasionally use. Bookmarking is important as you can organize various websites in the order of how frequently you use them and you can quickly get to the webpage of your choice without actually searching for it.
If your default device for browsing the web is a Mac computer, then chances are that you are using Safari to get things done. If you no longer access the webpages that you once bookmarked, then you can delete them from your Bookmarks list on Safari. In this post, we’ll help you remove websites you saved as bookmarks and reading lists on your Mac.

How to Delete Bookmarks on a Mac
To delete a bookmark on a Mac, launch the Safari browser and click on the Sidebar icon on the top left corner. The Sidebar icon is the destination for all your bookmarks and reading lists on Safari.
When you click the Sidebar icon, a sidebar will open on the left-hand side of the browser showing you a list of bookmarks and reading lists under their respective tabs. Click on the Bookmark tab from this sidebar and you’ll now see a list of webpages you have bookmarked in the past on Safari.
Now locate the webpage you want to delete from the Bookmarks list, Control-click or Right-click on it, and select the ‘Delete’ option.
Your saved bookmark should now disappear from the Bookmarks list on Safari.

How to Remove items from your Reading List
In addition to keeping a bunch of websites saved as bookmarks, the Safari app on the Mac also allows you to save specific web pages that you’d like to read at a later point in time. Any page you save as an item inside Safari’s Reading list will be available to read offline, meaning you can check the contents of the webpage without even being connected to the internet.
If you wish to remove the webpages that you saved in your Reading List, then launch Safari and then click on the Sidebar icon at the top left corner of the browser.
Select the Reading list tab from the sidebar that now appears on the left-hand side of Safari. You will now see a list of webpages you have saved in your Reading list in the past.
Locate the webpage you want to remove from this list, Control-click or Right-click on it, and select the ‘Remove Item’ option from the menu that appears.
If you wish to remove all the items saved in your Reading list, you can do that by Control-clicking or Right-clicking on any of the items, and then selecting the ‘Clear All Items’ from the menu.
This should remove all the webpages you might have saved for offline viewing earlier.
That’s pretty much all there is to know about deleting bookmarks on a Mac.
