How to Get Ancient Bone in Palworld

Ancient Bone is a separate material from regular Bone, so old Bone farming routes will not get you what you need. For this 1.0 material, your target is the far-northeast sanctuary island and the fossil nodes scattered around its huge porous rock formations.

Ancient Bone location and fast facts

You get Ancient Bone by mining the large spine-and-ribcage fossil nodes on Wildlife Sanctuary No. 3. The cleanest route starts at Deep Sand Dunes near 527, 526, then heads northeast toward the sanctuary at the edge of the map.

Ancient Bone is an Uncommon Palworld 1.0 material with 8 weight and a 1,200 Gold sell price, but its real value is in accessory crafting. Do not confuse it with regular Bone from sources like Rushoar or merchants.

How to reach Wildlife Sanctuary No. 3 and mine Ancient Bone in Palworld

Start from Deep Sand Dunes, cross northeast to the far sanctuary, then search the fossil rocks for ribcage nodes.

Start at Deep Sand Dunes

Use the Deep Sand Dunes fast travel point near 527, 526 as your starting marker.

Head northeast

Travel northeast from the teleporter toward the Wildlife Sanctuary at the far edge of the map.

Bring a mining tool

Have a pickaxe or Plasma Cutter ready before you start checking the island.

Enter the sanctuary area

Once you reach Wildlife Sanctuary No. 3, begin searching around the huge fossil-like and porous rocks.

Look for ribcage fossils

Mine the nodes that look like a spine with a rib cage, as these are the Ancient Bone nodes.

Check indented rocks

Sweep around the big rocks with deep indents, since many Ancient Bone nodes sit beside them.

Keep circling nearby formations

Continue around the sanctuary and check each large fossil cluster for more ribcage nodes.

Search higher spots too

Look up on raised areas as well, because some Ancient Bone nodes sit above the lower path.

Ancient Bone node appearance and mining tools

The node you want does not look like an ore vein or a normal rock. An Ancient Bone node looks like a fossilized spine with rib bones jutting out of the ground, usually beside massive porous stones or rocks with carved-looking indents.

Some nodes can stand out with a light shimmer, but the most important visual cue is the ribcage shape. When you find one, mine it with a pickaxe or Plasma Cutter to collect Ancient Bone.

Ancient Bone farming loop and wrong sources

The best farm is a full Wildlife Sanctuary No. 3 loop. Start at the sanctuary entrance, circle the island, and check every large fossil-like rock formation before leaving. The nodes are not all on flat ground, so include nearby upper ledges and raised spots in your sweep.

Because per-node yield, respawn timing, and total node count are not fixed enough for a route chart yet, the strongest approach is simple: mine every ribcage fossil you see, leave, and come back for another pass when the area has refreshed.

Do not farm regular Bone sources if you need Ancient Bone. Rushoar, Ranch setups, and Wandering Merchants are tied to regular Bone, not this 1.0 material. Also skip Wildlife Sanctuary No. 1 and Wildlife Sanctuary No. 2 when your target is Ancient Bone; this material belongs to Wildlife Sanctuary No. 3.
