Fossil was one of the very first players in the Android Wear race, though new Android OEMs such as ZTE and luxury fashion brands are entering the platform this year (Swarovski and Moldova, among others), the Q Founder watch was the beginning of Fossil’s offerings.
Since then, Fossil has gone on to create a number of collections in Android Wear, such as the Michael Kors Access Dylan and Michael Kors Access Bradshaw, in addition to the Emporio Armani smartwatch lineup, apart from the company’s Q Founder, Q Marshal, Q Wander, and hybrid smartwatch series. The company recently added the Q Venture and Q Explorist to its Q series. Fossil intended to release its Misfit Vapor smartwatch running its own OS, but decided in the final analysis to go with Google’s Android Wear platform to provide great apps access for mainstream buyers.
The Q Marshal (designed for men) and Q Wander (designed for women) series have been out for some time and are now open to price drops (as was the Q Founder back in February). Best Buy is having a sale right now on the Silver Q Marshal with the silver metal band and the Rose Gold Q Wander being discounted from $275 to $165 (a $110 savings). Yes, these are specific models of the Q Marshal and Q Wander, meaning that all other variants will cost you north of $250.
The Q Marshal and Q Wander also qualify for the new massive Android Wear 2.0 update (available since March) that brings the on-screen virtual keyboard, Play Store apps download access, customizable watch faces, and more, so you need not worry about buying an outdated smartwatch.
