It’s no secret that Nokia is working on Android Oreo 8.0 update for its recently launched flagship device, Nokia 8. Nokia under HMD Global has promised that they will send regular operating system and security updates to all its devices – Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6 and Nokia 8.
Looks like they will indeed keep their promise. Recently, Juho Sarvikas, the Chief Product Officer at HMD Global took to Twitter to tease the upcoming Oreo update for Nokia 8. Although he didn’t mention the exact timeframe for the release of Android Oreo, he said, “Will release Oreo when perfect”, which is obvious, as currently, the Oreo update for Nokia 8 is under testing phase.

But, a new report gives us some clear idea about the Nokia 8 Oreo update. According to the report, Nokia will release the Oreo update by October end for Nokia 8. Apparently, at the launch event of Nokia 8, held in Taiwan, HMD Global announced that they are currently burning the midnight oil to test Oreo on Nokia 8 and if luck favors, they will push stable Oreo update by the end of October.
If that happens, Nokia will create history by being the fastest and the first OEM to send Android Oreo update to its device. Of course, unless, no one else does it before them. Who are the competitors you ask? OnePlus and Samsung. While OnePlus has started testing the OnePlus 3 Oreo update in the closed-beta group, Samsung is also working on S8 and S8+ update, and just today, S8+ was spotted on Geekbench running Android 8.0.
