Greedy Growers Pet Guide: Egg Types, Passives, and Equip Slots

Greedy Growers has exactly 18 pets across five egg tiers. Each pet gives one passive that pushes your farm toward a specific goal: more fruit, faster growth, extra seeds, mutations, pet progression, or lightning protection. Pick pets based on what you are farming right now, then rotate your third slot when your goal changes. Here is every pet, where it comes from, what its passive does, and which ones deserve your three equip slots.

Every Greedy Growers pet at a glance

To get any pet, go to the Pet Shop next to the Farmer’s Market, buy an egg with tickets, place it on your plot, and let it hatch into one random pet from that egg’s pool. You earn tickets at the Farmer’s Market NPC by delivering the fruits it currently requests. Higher-rarity and mutated fruits pay out more, and active offers can give you up to 200 tickets at a time. The loop is simple: farm stronger fruit, turn it in for tickets, then spend those tickets on stronger egg tiers.

Common Egg pets: Squirrel, Bunny, and Mouse

The Common Egg costs 100 tickets and gives you one of three starter pets: Squirrel, Bunny, or Mouse. All three share the same passive. Each one occasionally finds extra common fruit with random sizes and mutations, so take whichever one hatches and use it while you build your ticket supply.

These are early-game helpers. They keep bonus common fruit trickling in while you save for better eggs, but they fall out of your main setup once Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythic pets start filling your roster.

Rare Egg pets: Dog, Cat, and Robin

At 200 tickets, the Rare Egg is where pets start filling real roles. Dog raises the chance for your fruits to mutate during weather events, so equip it when a mutation-friendly weather event is active. Cat is the clean growth-speed pick: equip it when you want fruits finishing faster across your plot.

Epic Egg pets: Chicken, Roach, and Woodpecker

The Epic Egg costs 500 tickets and gives you progression tools plus targeted mutation picks. Chicken makes your pet eggs hatch at higher levels, so use it when you are building your pet progression and want stronger hatches. Roach applies the Infested mutation to fruits, so equip it when Infested fruit is the target.

Woodpecker is the tier’s must-have. It periodically pecks a tree for a chance to drop its seed, giving you a steady stream of free tree seeds while you farm. Pair it with Robin and your seed economy starts carrying itself.

Legendary Egg pets: Cow, Sheep, Pig, and Raccoon

The Legendary Egg costs 1,000 tickets, and its four pets each handle a different support role. Cow improves fertilizer effects without raising fertilizer prices, making it a strong efficiency pick if you already spend on fertilizer. Sheep grants bonus XP to your other equipped pets, so run it when you are leveling the rest of your roster.

Pig applies the Huge mutation to fruits, giving you a direct way to chase Huge crops. Raccoon occasionally finds legendary fruit with random sizes and mutations, making it a higher-value version of the common fruit finders and a strong passive-profit pick.

Mythic Egg pets: Frog, Magpie, Turtle, Monkey, and Alligator

The Mythic Egg is the top tier at 2,000 tickets and has the most specialized passives. Frog applies the Slimy mutation to fruits, and Alligator has a small chance to apply the unique Scaled mutation to seeds as they are planted. Use both as targeted mutation-farming tools. Turtle has a small chance to negate a lightning strike once during a tree’s growth, giving valuable trees a layer of protection before harvest.

Monkey occasionally finds mythic or higher fruit with random sizes and mutations, making it the strongest fruit-finder passive. Magpie is the most useful long-term saver in the group because it occasionally finds pet eggs, giving you extra pet pulls without spending tickets every time.

Best pets to equip in your three slots

You can equip up to three pets at once, and their passives stack. The best setup is two reliable mains plus one rotating slot for your current farm. Robin and Woodpecker are the recommended core pair because they cover seed finding and free tree seeds in almost every session.

Use the third slot for the job in front of you. Equip Cat for faster growth, Dog during mutation weather, Turtle when a valuable tree needs lightning protection, Sheep while leveling other pets, or Magpie when you want extra pet egg rolls.
