Google to soon roll out Android O beta program as Android Nougat beta ends

Google has officially confirmed to soon commence the Android O beta programme. At the same time it stated that ‘the beta for Android Nougat has concluded’. Thus, we won’t see any further builds of the Nougat being pushed to Pixel and Nexus devices in the coming days.

However, Google will soon begin the Android O Beta program, after already having released the initial Android O Developer Preview back in March 2017. In fact, it is expected that registered users will receive the Android O Beta program sometime this month itself.

In the words of Google:

Thank you for your interest in the Android Beta Program! The beta for Android Nougat has concluded, and all devices that were opted in have been updated to the current public version. If you are still running a beta version of Nougat, you ma download the latest full OTA image for your device and sideload it. This will not wipe your device. We’ll update this site when the Android O Beta Program begins.

With the upcoming Google I/O 2017 scheduled for May 17-19, the release of the second preview of Android O may coincide with this event. And following this, the Beta programme may start which we expect to be more stable and smooth than the first release.
