What to know
- Google is preparing controls for publishing and unpublishing Gemini styles.
- Published styles would be discoverable and reusable by anyone for their own creations.
- The evidence comes from code for an unreleased feature in Google app v17.66.11.sa.arm64.
The broader Gemini styles capability is already public, but Google appears to be working on a new way for people to share their creations more widely.
Our teardown of Google app v17.66.11.sa.arm64 found a complete publishing flow, including confirmation dialogs, a visible Published state, public discovery and reuse language, and controls for withdrawing a style later.
Gemini styles are getting a publishing flow
The new strings point to a Publish style option within the style detail menu. Selecting it would open a confirmation dialog explaining the most important consequence: publishing makes the style available for anyone to discover and use in their own creations.
Google has also prepared named versions of the dialog title, along with separate Cancel and Publish buttons. That suggests the flow is designed to identify the specific style before changing its visibility.
Published styles can carry a public handle
A second version of the publishing explanation includes the placeholder @%1$s. The wording says anyone can discover and use that handle for their creations, while a separate label marks the style as Published.
Together, these strings show that publishing is more than a simple sharing link. Google is preparing a public discovery and reuse state for Gemini styles, with an identifiable handle attached to the published creation.
Creators will be able to unpublish and republish styles
The same build includes an Unpublish confirmation flow. Its explanation says the style will stop being visible on Gemini, while remaining accessible to its creator and available for republishing later. That distinction matters: unpublishing changes public visibility without removing the creator’s access to the style.
Google has also added an error message for cases where the visibility change cannot be completed, indicating that publishing status is treated as an update to who can see the style.
These publishing controls are not available to users yet, and we’ll watch future Google app builds for signs of a rollout.
