Moto X 2nd Gen. is the first flagship release from Motorola after being taken over by the Chinese giant Lenovo since its acquisition from Google in January 2014. When a new device is released, it also comes with some exclusive features and apps. All the new Moto X 2nd Gen.’s Camera and Gallery app have under gone some fine tweaking with least cosmetic changes.

CAMERA

The camera user interface is very minimalist and comes with decent level of customizations.  A Swipe to the right opens up camera settings and to the left for gallery. The various shooting modes included are Panorama mode, HDR and Slow-Motion mode. You can tap anywhere on the screen to take a photo, even while recording video and hold to take a burst of photos (there’s no definite amount to limit on the amount of photos one can take in the burst mode). Most handy feature is the Quick Capture a double-flick wrist gesture to open the camera app (which, however, won’t work on your Moto G).

GALLERY

Moto Gallery

Motorola’s Gallery uses a light color scheme. The app has a slide-out navigation panel on the left edge in place of the drop down list. You can use this to jump between the camera roll, timeline, and album view. There aren’t any visible changes from Motorola’s current Gallery app but it’s, as you know, is the latest Gallery app from Motorola and you can install it on your Moto G.
