Have you just got your hands on the brand new Samsung Galaxy S8? Are you having problems with the device not turning on? Well, not to worry, that can happen sometimes, and there’s a simple trick to get it working properly.
If your Galaxy S8 doesn’t turn on by simply pressing the Power button, or is switched on but won’t respond, then here’s what you need to do. Press and hold the Power button and the Volume Down button together for about seven seconds.
This should make the device perform a hard reboot. Don’t worry, it will not damage your brand new S8 or S8 Plus in any way. Sometimes first boots take long, or the software gets stuck, or the phone becomes completely unresponsive due to various other reasons.

If the device still doesn’t turn on, then it’s best you take it back to where your purchased it from, and ask for a new device. Several Galaxy S8 users have already started facing a few problems here and there, but it’s not widespread.

HOLY SNIKES! IT WORKED!!! My phone was just dead. Dead… like it did nothing. Wasn’t charging, wasn’t doing anything when it was totally fine this morning. I did just as you said and BOOM, it shocked it into working again. Thank you!!!!!

yea man thanks a lot i tried the the trick but i didnt know it was for 7 seconds, great help now i want to know why this happened in the first place. this was a scare my phone had 100% battery i just took it off the charger and had it there next to me

My S8, doesn’t turn on anymore, charged it overnight, original charger. Next morning, no sign of life at all. Tried everything, soft reset, hard reset. Nothing… The phone is brand new. 1 month old… Really frustrating.
Gonna give samsung a call, with another phone of course….
