Samsung U.K. sent a slew of tweets claiming that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update will not be reaching the Galaxy Note 2 and the 3G only model of Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300). The tweets did not mention any reason for the ruling out of the update on these models.

In May, Samsung Gulf sent a tweet stating that in the region, the Galaxy Note 2 will stay at Android 4.4 KitKat. The tweet was made by the division of Samsung that handles sales in the Persian Gulf region. Also, the Galaxy S3 with 3G only model will be passed for the Android 5.0 Lollipop by Samsung Gulf.

Both the handsets launched in 2012 were flagship devices with the in-house Exynos 4412 chipset housing quad core processor with a difference in the clock speed of the cores.

It is clear that Samsung has left the decision of updating a device to its respective regions. We say this as the Samsung Finland and Poland have claimed that the Galaxy Note 2 on their networks will receive the update in their regions.
