Update [April 04, 2017]: Samsung just released an update for the 2016 Galaxy J7 with build number J710MNUBU2AQC1. The Marshmallow based update brings the March security patch to the device at the same time fixing known issues and bugs to allow performance improvements. As for Nougat for the J7 (2016), it doesn’t seem too far off with the update scheduled for release by July 31st this year. This is based on the Nougat roadmap for Samsung Turkey.

The Note 7 battery fiasco aside, people do believe in Samsung and its product quality, which is why its mid-ranger offerings like Galaxy J7 2016 are accepted gracefully by users around the world, especially in the Asian countries including China and India. No wonder, it sold like hotcakes for the big Sammy, but now, users of Galaxy J7 2016 are waiting for the release of Nougat update.

Well, Android 7.0 packs in some really good — and much required — improvements and that makes it very compelling to want it on your device instantly. So, let’s talk about when we think the Galaxy J7 2016 could be see its Android 7.0 Nougat OTA update out.

Galaxy J7 2016 Nougat release

Expected release date: April 2017.

To get a fair idea of Nougat release of Galaxy J7 2016, we don’t need to look any further than original Galaxy J7, and its Marshmallow update release, which happened on June 17, 2016 (for one of the variants).

We think same will be the fate — the delay, we mean! — of the new Galaxy J7 2016 too, as regard Android 7.0 Nougat update.

But because Nougat released (on August 22, 2016) some 45 days earlier than when Marshmallow released last year (on October 5, 2015), we have to pull date forward by that much days, which brings us to more or less April release.
