If you are in a market for budget range phone, then you may want to hold out buying one until Samsung announces the Galaxy J3 2017. Today, an image leaked out revealing the front of the device, and having been part of the rumors and leaks for long time, it should be nearing release now.
The device looks to be heading to Sprint, while an international variant is expected too. Because, the leak has it that it sports the model no. SM-J327P — Samsung’s device with P at the end end up at Sprint, you know.
Galaxy S8 is not due for release for long time, but Samsung has a huge portfolio of Android devices, some are due a refresh. We have the Galaxy J3 2017 here, while the Galaxy A5 2017 and Galaxy A7 2017.
The Galaxy J3’s specs are also rumored: it could sport an HD 720p 5-inch display powered by Snapdragon 430 chipset, clocked at 1.4 GHz, and 2GB of RAM. All of this runs on the same 2600mAh battery from the last generation J3.
The 2016 Galaxy J3 had two variants of the processor, the Spreadtrum SC9830 quad core SoC and Samsung’s own Exynos 3475, also a quad core chip.
Save for the processor and the addition of 0.5 GB of RAM, the performance upgrade can be thought of as minimal. Since the Snapdragon 430 (also present in the Redmi 3s from Xiaomi) is an extremely power efficient Octa Core chip, we can expect a decent improvement in battery life.
The mid range Galaxy J5 and the higher end J7 are also expecting an upgrade for 2017. The 2017 lineup of the Galaxy J series is expected to be released by Q1 2017 with Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box.
