Galaxy A7 2017 features and specs are out thanks to rumor

The Galaxy A7 2017 specs are here for real! As much real as possible without an actually announcement, you know. The device is clearly going to be an upgrade on the A7 2016. The A7 2017 is said to sport a 5.68” display vs. 5.5” you find on its predecessor, with Super AMOLED the display type.

However, the days when front-camera used to be of lower pixels seems to be gone, with the A7 2017 all set to sport whopping 16MP cameras on both front and back. That’s something we’re seeing on a lot of devices now a days, including the all new OnePlus 3T. This seems a conscious effort from Samsung to compete with similar priced Chinese makes in the segment.

Just not the size, the new A7 2017 will be powered by Exynos 7880 SoC, clocked at 1.8 GHz against the 1.6 GHz in the previous version. The base variant will have 32GB internal storage instead of 16GB in A7 2016, while the RAM remains same at 3 GB.

The powerhouse it has become demands for larger airspace and has become thicker by 0.5 mm at 7.8 mm. The body sized at 157.69 x 76.92 x 7.8mm has high chances of featuring IP68 resistance, a feature spotted in flagship phones to date.

Along with the regular connectivity options, type-C USB port is expected in A7 2017. Other existing features like fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, proximity sensor will be featured along with LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. Not less than 3600 mAh power backup is expected in this large phone to back the larger display and chipset.

The A7 2016 was launched at Rs 33,400 in December 2016. By the looks of it, the A7 2017 may follow suite in pricing and release in the coming month. It’s highly unlikely that Samsung would pre-install Nougat powered OS in this device, since its flagship devices are yet to receive the same. Both of Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge have received a Nougat text build, while release of Android 7.0 update looks set for December 2016. A month from now looks a short span to test and ship for the A7 2017.

The device specifications are strikingly similar to this month’s HTC launch Bolt and some close competition looks to be on offer. With LG V20 already out there with Nougat inside, will be quite interesting to see if Samsung wants to match with a Nougat device.
