An image of the Galaxy C9 Pro has leaked out on a web today, revealing the matte black color variant. The device is already available in Gold and Pink Gold colors, but looks there was a demand for black color too, which led Samsung to prepare one that we’re seeing above, but it’s unlike the shiny Black Pearl color variant Samsung released for Galaxy S7 recently.
Samsung is looking to bring the C9 Pro to other markets than China too, where it is exclusive right now, and it’s not clear whether it will be called C9 Pro in other markets, or simply C9.
Because its model no. is C9000 in the pic above, we know it’s a Chinese set, as the international variant that will release in Europe and Asia, including India, will have the model no. of C900F, with the dual-SIM variant going C900DS.
The Galaxy C9 is aimed at that sweet spot between premium and performance devices. Samsung is, in a way, trying to compete with OnePlus in this manner, but offering solid performance at a reasonable price.
Samsung is also expected to be pushing out Android 7.1.1 Nougat, which first showed up on the Google Pixel, to all its current update lineup instead of Android 7.0. At the moment Samsung is running the third iteration of the beta test to Nougat for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.
The update is expected to start rolling out in a few weeks by the end of this month. This can be confirmed from the fact that Samsung has stopped accepting any more beta testers. In other news, Samsung is giving away the Gear VR for free with the purchase of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.
