Another mid-range Samsung smartphone is getting the Android Nougat update today. The Samsung Galaxy A8 2015 has just started to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update in South Korea.

The build number for the update is A800SKSU1CQJ1 and it will be delivered to users via OTA. The update should arrive in a few days time to all users in South Korea. You can expect the update to be available elsewhere soon after.

The Galaxy A8 2015 originally came with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop in 2015, and was updated to Android 6.0 last year. It is really good of Samsung to provide Nougat update for a two year old phone. That said, the phone was spotted running Nougat on WiFi Alliance in August, so this isn’t a surprise.

As of now, the update has only started to roll-out in South Korea though. The Galaxy A8 comes with a 5.7-inch 1080p display with a Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 16MP rear camera, and a 5MP front camera. It is powered by a 3050 mAh battery.

You can manually check for the update by heading to Settings > About Device > Software Update, on your smartphone. Make sure the phone is connected to a stable WiFi network and has more than 50 percent charge, before you install the update.
