Looks like the next generation of Galaxy A series phones from Samsung will indeed feature the Infinity Display found in the current Galaxy S8/S8+ and the Note 8. We’ve been hearing rumors and reports about this from quite some time now.

Now, the Galaxy A5 2018 model has been spotted on the HTML5 test site, where details of the display resolution were revealed. As per the tests, the smartphone has a resolution of 412 x 816 pixels, which equates to an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. This is similar to the Infinity display‘s aspect ratio.

The 412 x 816 resolution is of the browser, and the display will most likely feature a 1080p resolution. The exact dimensions of the display isn’t known yet. Other rumored specs include a Snapdragon 660/Exynos 7885 chipset, 4GB of RAM, Bluetooth 5.0, rear mounted fingerprint sensor, and Android Nougat on board.

The Galaxy A series caters to customers who are looking for a mid-range device that packs some punch and isn’t heavy on the pocket. We expect Samsung to announce the 2018 variants of the Galaxy A3, A5, and the A7 in January next year.
