Most pieces are straightforward once you know the exact map or shop, but a few are easy to miss because the reward sits in a chest or separate challenge area instead of dropping directly into your inventory.

Use the table first to check what you are missing, then follow the individual sections for the route details. The Queen is the only piece with messy route descriptions in current written coverage; the route to use is Red Haze Incursion with the Scarlet Necklace ready.

The Pawn and King are the money checks. The Rook and Bishop are chest checks after dragon routes, while the Knight is a field pickup in the correct Fuzzy challenge area. The Queen asks more from your setup because Red Haze Incursion becomes much easier when the red mist is neutralized.

Return to Grandmaster Fuzzy

Go back to the Fuzzy’s Gambit board area and speak with Grandmaster Fuzzy.

Place the requested piece

Put down the piece named by the current Endgame prompt.

Talk to Grandmaster Fuzzy again

After the placement resolves, speak with Grandmaster Fuzzy to move the challenge forward.

Repeat until the chain ends

Once you own the requested pieces, placement appears to resolve automatically if the correct piece is available.

Pawn location in Fuzzy Village

The Pawn is sold by the Mysterious Fuzzy Merchant in Fuzzy Village for 30,000 Warren Coins. Buy one before you start working through the Endgame prompts, because the early board requests lean on Pawn placements.

King location in Fuzzy Village

The King is also available from the Mysterious Fuzzy Merchant in Fuzzy Village. It costs 300,000 Warren Coins, making it the expensive shop piece in the set.

The King can be tied to challenge mission progress, but the direct route is simple: buy it from the merchant when you have enough Warren Coins. That keeps the board chain moving without waiting for the quest line to push you back to the shop.

Rook chest at Milk Ice Mountain

Go to Milk Ice Mountain

Fast travel to Milk Ice Mountain when you are ready to collect the Rook.

Defeat Frostspike Dragon

Clear the Frostspike Dragon encounter in that area.

Open the portal chest

Loot the chest near the portal to receive the Rook.

The Rook is a chest reward, not a direct drop from Frostspike Dragon. If the dragon is down and the piece is still missing, check the portal-side chest before leaving the area.

Knight pickup in Fuzzy Club Special Challenge

The Knight is in the Fuzzy Club Special Challenge area in Warren Continent. Look near Civilized Fuzzy; the piece should be lying on the floor around that NPC area.

If you already cleared that challenge route earlier, the Knight may no longer be visible when you return. In that case, check your inventory and Fuzzy’s Gambit board progress before assuming the piece is still missing.

Bishop chest at Crimson Castle

Fast travel to Crimson Castle

Head to Crimson Castle for the Bishop route.

Reach the Crimson Dragon area

Push into the final boss battle map with Crimson Dragon.

Loot the boss-area chest

Open the chest near or behind the portal and boss area to get the Bishop.

Leave once the chest is collected

If your route allows it, you can grab the chest and exit without fully finishing the boss encounter.

The important part is the chest, not the dragon itself. Some routes describe defeating Crimson Dragon first, while others let you reach the chest behind the boss area and leave once the Bishop is collected.

Enter Red Haze Incursion

Go to Red Haze Incursion when you are ready to work on the Queen.

Equip Scarlet Necklace

Use the Scarlet Necklace so the red mist does not keep disrupting the run.

Complete the challenge

Clear the enemies and finish the challenge to obtain the Queen.

The Scarlet Necklace is described as farmable from Nightmare mode.

Scarlet Necklace is the piece of prep that matters here because it makes you immune to the red mist inside the map. Without it, the Red Haze Incursion route becomes much harder to finish cleanly because you are fighting the area effect while also dealing with minions.

There is also a claim that the Scarlet Necklace may be farmable from the challenge side because it is a legendary yellow equipment piece, but Nightmare mode is the cleaner farm target to plan around.

Finish the Endgame board prompts

After you have the requested pieces, return to Grandmaster Fuzzy and continue the Endgame prompts. Place the piece the prompt asks for, then speak to Grandmaster Fuzzy again to progress the chain.

The board is more forgiving than it first looks. Once the correct piece is owned, placement appears to be accepted automatically, so the hard part is collecting the full set rather than memorizing exact chess-board positioning.

Missing-piece checks for Fuzzy’s Gambit

If you are stuck early, check whether you bought only one Pawn. You do not need to buy multiple Pawns for repeated Pawn placements, and those coins are better saved for the King.

If the Rook or Bishop is missing, revisit the post-boss chest route. Both pieces are tied to chests near portal or boss areas, so leaving immediately after the dragon fight can make it feel like the piece never appeared.

For the Knight, make sure you are searching the Fuzzy Club Special Challenge area, not just wandering around Fuzzy Village. For the Queen, focus on Red Haze Incursion and bring the Scarlet Necklace setup rather than looking for a simple floor pickup.
