Android smartphones from different OEMs come with separate custom skins. For instance, there is TouchWiz UI on Samsung, MIUI on Xiaomi devices and EMUI on Huawei devices. For the unaware, Flyme OS is Meizu’s custom skin for Android that comes preinstalled on all Meizu phones.
The company recently opened Flyme OS for third party developers to build FlymeOS based custom ROMs for Android devices from other manufacturers as well.
A lot of Android devices since then have received a custom ROM based on Flyme OS, and today Lenovo ZUK Edge has joined the party too.
Lenovo ZUK Edge was launched in January 2017 and features 5.5-inch screen, 4/6 GB RAM, 64 GB memory and runs on Android Nougat 7.
The Flyme 6, which is the latest version of Flyme OS is based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. However, Lenovo ZUK Edge was launched with Android 7.0 Nougat as mentioned above, hence installing Flyme 6 would mean downgrading to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
In case you still want to download it, the Flyme 6 bears version number 220.127.116.11R beta and weighs 1208MB. It is advisable to connect to a good Wi-Fi network before downloading the update and make sure you have enough free storage. Further, keep your handset charged as high as 50 percent.
