It looks like Motorola is all set to skip the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update and leapfrog to Android 5.1. Well, Motorola will be rolling out the Android 5.1 Lollipop update to the first generation Moto devices, revealed the firm’s Software Product Manager, David Schuster on his Google+ page.
The executive revealed that Motorola has been testing both the builds of Android on the first generation Moto devices such as Moto X, Moto G LTE and Moto E. As the Android 5.1 update is the latest build, it packs in several enhancements. Eventually, it has been chosen to be better for the Motorola users. Hence, the users will receive the Android 5.1 Lollipop update on their devices that run on KitKat.
Also, the Android 5.1 Lollipop OTA update has been rolled out to the Moto G Google Play edition devices. However, there is no information on when the other Motorola devices will be receiving the Android 5.1 update. We can expect the update to reach the other first generation Motorola models soon.
